Join the fun at Goodhue County Family Fun Fest, Saturday, June 22, 4 to 8 p.m., at the Goodhue County Fairground in Zumbrota. This fundraising event is hosted by the Friends of the Goodhue County Fair (FGCF) to raise funding for new livestock barns on the fairground.

The festivities will feature a Steak or Pork Chop meal (hot dog option for kids), Silent Auction, Beer & Wine grab, live music and lots of games and activities for the kids.

“It’s so exciting to hear feedback from the people of Goodhue County about the progress of the barn raising projects!” LeeAnn Waugh, FGCF board member and event chair said. “Everyone is thrilled to hear about the significant Red Wing Shoe donation and we continue to build awareness of the needs and this grassroots fundraiser is part of that momentum!”

There’ll be a bounce house, ladder toss, giant Jenga and Connect 4, bean bag boards, Barrel Train and a clever basketball arcade made from a gravity box for the kids. The Silent Auction is loaded with terrific items including: St. Paul Saints Super Fireworks tickets donated by Huneke Custom Spraying, Minnesota Wild tickets donated by Insignia Printing Co., Wagyu & Angus beef bundle from Cannon Valley Ranch, Whole & Half hogs for processing from Mike and Rebecca Patterson Family, Mark Behrens hand-crafted wood bowls, CannonBelles Coffee & Ice Cream tour plus cheese & wine pairing, LTS Brewery sampling and tour, a Garden Abundance Basket from Paul and Mamie Luhmann Family, a framed print of Zumbrota’s Covered Bridge donated by Stary-Yerka VFW, a one-hour fly over of a local area of choice with Ben Priebe in his Piper Cherokee 140 and finally, 4K resolution drone photography of the buyer’s homestead, donated by Priebe and Cal Luebke.

“So many lives have been enriched by being involved with the Goodhue County Fair and these people want to give back and be part of raising the new barns for this and future generations,” Waugh continued. “The Family Fun Fest is a way everyone can participate and enjoy great food and beverages, local music, family activities and more!”

Many local organizations and businesses are supporting this fundraiser with donations to the meal including: Three Rivers Cattlemen’s Association, Goodhue County Pork Producers, Goodhue County Corn and Soybean Growers, the Goodhue County American Dairy Association (ADA) and Nilssen’s Hub Food Center, Zumbrota.

The meal includes your choice of a steak or pork chop, potato bar, creamed corn, corn bread with honey butter, milk and ice-cream and water. There’s a hot dog meal available for kids.
