Goodhue had 2 speakers place in the final round of the Section 1A speech tournament at Byron on April 11th. Senior, Madilyn Stehr placed 6th in Dramatic Interpretation and sophomore, Mari Hanson placed 3rd in Great Speeches. Mari qualified to compete in the state tournament at Park Center High School in Brooklyn Park on April 26th. Mari gave a great presentation but did not rank in the finals.
This is the third year high school English teacher Heidi Hanson coached Wildcat speech after several years without a Goodhue team. This year's team included 12 high school members on varsity and 2 6th graders who competed at the middle school level.
