(GOODHUE, MN) – Goodhue Living, managed by Jaybird Senior Living, recently made a special dream come true for one of its beloved residents, Gary Glander, through their signature Dare to Dream program.
Gary, who was among the first to move into Goodhue Living, was recently placed on hospice care after being diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) and a stomach tumor. To honor his time at Goodhue Living, the staff organized a memorable horse and wagon ride for Gary and his loved ones.
This month, with support from the community, the event came to life. Dave Stevenson, from Hammond, Minnesota, provided the horse and wagon. St. Croix Hospice and two Bellechester American Legion veterans in uniform honored Gary with flags as he began his ride. The event was carefully planned to include Gary’s family, friends, and fellow residents in this meaningful experience.
"We wanted to create a special moment for Gary and his family," shared Missy Shaleen, Executive Director of Goodhue Living. "It was a wonderful experience, and we’re so thankful to everyone who helped make it happen, especially Dave Stevenson, who kindly donated his time and resources."
This event is a great example of Goodhue Living’s dedication to bringing joy and comfort to its residents. The Dare to Dream program, one of Jaybird Senior Living’s signature initiatives, helps make a dream come true for a resident each month, adding special memories to their lives.
