Bellechester City Council Meeting Minutes

June 18, 2025 @ 6:00 PM

Call the meeting to order at 6:00. Meeting is recorded, and the recordings belong to the City of Bellechester.

Pledge to the flag

Roll call was taken: The council in attendance: Mayor Jody Gordon, Council member Mark Gerken Jacob Gilsdorf, Nick Keller and Rich Majerus as well as City Clerk Lisa Redepenning and City Engineer Matt Mohs was present. Treasurer Kyle McKeown was absent.

Minutes of the May 21, 2025 regular meeting were reviewed and motion was made by Rich Majerus with a second by Nick Keller to approve the minutes. Motion carried.

Bills were reviewed with a motion by Mark Gerken with a second by Jake Gilsdorf to approve and pay the bills as presented. Motion carried.

Old Business:

• Sanitary Sewer Improvements – Pay Application #7 - Motion by Rich Majerus with a second by Nick Keller to approve Pay Application #7 in the amount of $23,915.24 to Visu-Sewer and DGS final Pay Application #4 for $2470.55. Motion carried.

• Ordinance Violation Letters Update – we will continue to monitor progress.

New business:

• Street Closure request for Tavern – Tavern requested street closure for July 19 for a Community Rib Fest Fund Raiser. Motion was made by Rich Majerus with a 2nd by Jake Gilsdorf to approve road closures. Motion carried with Jody Gordon abstaining.

• Goodhue county GIS – Motion was made by Rich Majerus with a 2nd by Nick Keller to join Goodhue County GIS user group. Motion carried.

• Swimming pool permit - Dave Reuter - Motion was made by Rich Majerus with a 2nd by Nick Keller to approve the pool permit as presented. Motion carried.

• Liquor License renewals – Tavern and Legion - Motion was made by Rich Majerus with a 2nd by Nick Keller to approve both liquor licenses for 2026. Motion carried with Jody Gordon abstaining.

Engineer Report – See above

Clerk Report – County GIS – even though we did not get on with this at the beginning of the year, we will get a pro-rated fee based on when we start, not when the date on the resolution states.

Quarterly Billing – will be done June 25th.

Treasurer Report – Past Due list was distributed, letter will be sent.

Water/Wastewater/Facility Report – Replumbing of south well house is needed. Motion was made by Nick Keller with a 2nd by Mark Gerken for these necessary repairs. Motion carried.

Motion was made by Mark Gerken with a second by Jake Gilsdorf to adjourn the meeting. Motion carried. Meeting was adjourned at 6:49. Motion carried.
